About us


Today, the state of affairs in Turkey and in the world necessitate that associations and people who have been followers of “Atatürk’s thoughts” and principles as their guide for a secular and democratic Turkey, must come together and work more effectively. Thereof, at the initiative of the Atatürkçü Düşünce Derneği – ADD (Association of Ataturkist Thought) in Turkey, the first meeting of the Atatürk associations from around the world was held in Dortmund / Germany on September 18, 2016. The participating associations agreed on forming the World Ataturk Platform ( Atatürkçü Düşünce Dünya Platformu – ADDP) at the Dortmund meeting.

This idea of worldwide unification, initiated by the ADD Headquartes, was passed in June 2016, within the framework of the decision taken by the newly elected General Board of the ADD Headquarters.

As a result, many Atatürk Associations decided to collaborate with the realization that they have a big responsibility to protect the founding principles of the Turkish Republic. They are all committed to share the Platform values ​​and Atatürk’s philosophy of peace and prosperity for the whole world, as well as their belief in the secular and democratic Republic of Turkey.

The first General Assembly of the ADDP was held on March 18 – 19, 2017 in Istanbul – Turkey. Dr. Hakan Akbulut, a current member of the ADD Headquarter’s Board of Directors, was elected as the first president of the ADDP. The associations who were elected to the other Board of Directors seats of the ADDP are: ADD England, ADD Germany, ADD – USA, ADD Sweden, ADD Austria, ADD Kosovo, ADD Macedonia.

The second Assembly meeting of the ADDP took place in Stockholm, Sweden on June 9 – 11, 2017. The ADD Associations who participated in this meeting have repeated their determination to continue to protect the founding principles of the Turkish Republic, and the ideals of Atatürk. All ADDP member associations are committed to spread Ataturk’s philosophy all around the world.

The number of the member associations to ADDP reached 22, at the second Assembly meeting.

The next meeting of the ADDP is planned to take place on September 30 – October 1, 2017 in Frankfurt – Germany.

ADDP believes that Atatürk’s philosophy of prosperity and peace for the whole world, and especially Atatürk’s principles, must be taught and introduced as an ideology against the problems arising from instability in the Middle East; on the way to achieving peace and stability in the world. Within this framework, ADDP plans to be sound and effective working in Turkey, and around the world.
